Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, released in Japan as Gekikame Ninja Den (激亀忍者伝? lit. “Fierce Turtle Ninja Legend”) and in all of Europe (except Italy) as Teenage Mutant Hero Turtles(in italian Tartarughe Ninja), is a 1989 platform game for the Nintendo Entertainment System, later ported to home computers. The game was developed by Konami and originally released through Konami’s Ultra Games imprint in North America and its equivalent, Palcom Software, in the PAL region. The game is based on the 1987 Ninja Turtles TV series, which was in its second season during the game’s original release.

Double Dragon is a 1987 beat-em-up developed by Technos Japan Corporation and distributed in North America and Europe by Taito.
The story of Double Dragon is set in a post-apocalyptic version of New York City, five years after a nuclear war, where gangs and criminal organizations have taken control of the city. The protagonists are Billy and Jimmy Lee, the titular duo and the successors of a fictional martial arts style known as Sōsetsuken (loosely based on Jeet Kune Do). One day, Billy’s girlfriend, Marian, is kidnapped off the street and the Lee brothers receive a message from her captors, the Black Warriors, demanding to know the secrets of Sōsetsuken in exchange for her safety. The Black Warriors are the largest criminal organization in the city, led by machine gun-toting crime boss Willy Mackey. In the NES version of the plot, Willy is apparently only a figurehead, while Jimmy is the true leader, the Shadow Boss. This is the basic premise of the first game as originally established by Technos Japan, although certain details of the plot change between versions of the game and publishers. The actual game has no in-game plot and the opening merely depicts Marian being knocked unconscious and carried off by the Black Warriors, with Billy and Jimmy emerging from the garage in the background shortly afterwards. Ice Climber (アイスクライマー, Aisu Kuraimā?) is a climbing platform video game developed and published by Nintendo for the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985. The game features Popo (ポポ) and Nana (ナナ), collectively known as the Ice Climbers, venture up 32 ice-covered mountains to recover their stolen vegetables from a giant condor. In 1984, a slightly different and lesser known version was released as part of the Vs. arcade series called Vs. Ice Climber. In some countries of Europe, the console game was bundled with the NES, increasing the game’s familiarity outside Japan. Download this ROM!

The World Games, first held in 1981, are an international multi-sport event, meant for sports that are not contested in the Olympic Games. The World Games are organised and governed by the International World Games Association (IWGA), under the patronage of the International Olympic Committee (IOC). Some of the sports that were on the program of the World Games eventually made it as Olympic sports (such as triathlon) or have been Olympic sports in the past (like tug of war). Participation in past World Games is included in the evaluation criteria used to select new Olympic sports adopted by the IOC on August 12, 2004. However, with the current position of the IOC to limit the Olympic Games to 10,500 participants, it is unlikely than many of the World Games sports will be elevated to the Olympic sports. World Heroes is a fighting game series that was created by ADK for the Neo-Geo, though some of the games in the series were also ported to the Sega Saturn, Super Nintendo, Sega Megadrive and Game Boy. The general premise was that a scientist, Dr. Brown, having perfected a time machine, organized a tournament for various fighters throughout all of history to combat each other. True to this plot, many of the fighters are based on actual historical figures. Download this ROM!

In the game the player goes through five levels, using throwing stars and special abilities called the “Ninja Arts”, to stop a gang and the evil mastermind behind a slew of kidnappings, El Toro. One of the kidnapped is a student of the Black Manta’s sensei, Taro.
The Black Manta has many powers, which he gets after beating a level. The player can choose which power to use by pressing start. These powers can help the Black Manta defeat enemies and bosses more quickly. Part of the last level is seen through a first person perspective. The Black Manta also has to defeat one of the bosses from the previous levels. Download this ROM!

In this game, the player controls Mario as he works to destroy certain objects on the level. The levels were composed of several different looping levels, some of which were linked by ladders. Level design was key, and levels were designed to have the destructible ladders, columns, bombs, and blocks, destroyed in certain order. To make things more complicated, the player must figure out the puzzles while avoiding fireballs, monkey wrench and eggplant enemies, and a construction foreman named Spike (Blackey in Japan). Luigi appeared in this game as a second player, dressed in uncharacteristic purple. An arcade version was released under the title of Vs. Wrecking Crew, in keeping with Nintendo’s two-player simultaneous arcade releases of the time. Download this ROM!

Features include fluid gameplay and signature moves, as well as the ability to dive to the outside floor. Matches are presented at a high-angle view of the ring which includes the wrestlers’ stamina bars along the apron. An empty bar renders the player vulnerable to pinfalls.
Other modes include a one-on-one match, a tag team match, a three-on-three Survivor Series elimination match, and a championship mode where you take control of “yourself” (a generic character) and must defeat all the wrestlers in the game to become champion. Download this ROM!

The plot deals with mysterious earthquakes, and the government dispatches explorers in powerful digging machines called VZR’s (nicknamed WURMs, but the name is never used in the game). The player controls Moby, the leader of one VZR’s crew. She and her friends discover that two races of subterranean humans have been fighting a war underground. More characters join the crew over the course of the game.
WURM has a variety of different styles of play, with side-scrolling travel stages in the VZR, overhead shooting levels, levels where Moby leaves the vehicle to explore underground ruins, and first-person shooting levels with boss monsters. Download this ROM!

The Arcade Game can be played by up to 3 players, and the goal of each level is to defeat all the aliens before time runs out. Every level may contain more than one floor, and players will have to use an elevator to move between floors to defeat all of the aliens. Players may also pick up more powerful weapons and other items to help in their eradication of the aliens. Download this ROM!
